BACKGROUND

GordonLower Public Relations was founded in 2001 by senior-level practitioners Alicia Gordon and Anne Lower, whose combined experience in strategic public relations and marketing for luxury businesses, entrepreneurial ventures and non-profit organizations is widely recognized.  Both new and longstanding accounts are supervised and managed daily by the two agency principals.

From the beginning, our approach has been to work against the typical agency norm. At other companies there is often a layering of intermediate staff, while at GordonLower clients and media speak directly with us, ensuring the delivery of expert talent and resources at all times. Our roster of clients represents a wide variety of businesses and public relations needs and we offer each the same collaborative consulting service that has set us apart from the beginning.  We are committed to our founding principal of client services: making available, in each and every instance, our expertise and the resources needed to serve a client's objectives, from critical crisis intervention to a simple question of etiquette.

We are an agency of two – small and mighty – and as such, we are selective in the projects we choose. We believe that our success, and the success of our clients, comes from close relationships where we work in partnership, often beyond the traditional scope of public relations and marketing communications. We offer creative ideas and sensible strategies, along with a healthy dose of enthusiasm, to all of our clients.

ANNE LOWER

Anne Lower began working in marketing and public relations in 1992 in Boston, MA. Her previous work experience was in gallery management and museum development.

As the Gallery Director for Skinner, Inc., she was responsible for marketing efforts as the company moved from a small in-town office setting to a full-scale auction salesroom, complete with over 40 major auctions a year.

In 1995 she relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she became the Director of Marketing for Cookworks, a New Mexico-based retailer of fine kitchen equipment, tableware and gourmet foods.  She coordinated the expansion of the company into new markets, helping to scout locations, choosing an appropriate product mix and developing marketing strategies specific to each location.

Upon returning to Boston in 1999, Anne continued to consult with food-related clients and began to expand her base to include a more diverse range of businesses.  In 2001, she joined forces with Alicia Gordon to form GordonLower Public Relations, a boutique public relations firm specializing in luxury goods and services.  She has been featured in Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald and on WCVB TV’s newsmagazine Chronicle. She has lectured at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Newbury College, Suffolk University and the Luxury Marketing Council and written for Slammed Magazine, Cybele and Trends.

She has worked with the Style and Substance Council creating special events for children’s charities, The International Fine Art Show on its honorary committee and with the Boston Public Library on its branch art programming.

Lower received her B.A. in Art History from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.
